Ann Richards School Overview

My initial work with Ann Richards staff began when I was still with Austin Tinkering School. In a professional development we hosted I preached fun and ranted about not having enough time. I showed them how to safely use power tools and told them to give away an old chop saw they had found. I’m delighted that 8 years later I get to spend my days working at this magical school. If you don’t know the school, I invite you to check them out at https://www.annrichardsschool.org/ Over the years, with an amazing team of educators and administrators, I’ve helped evolve making to be a core part of what we do at ARS. Our focus is very project oriented, STEAM focused, with unique ties to various content areas. We strive to break down the silos between subjects and push our students to learn to learn, to become comfortable with failure, and gain the skills to manipulate their world, to create in their world. The work we do delights me very much!
