While still working at Austin Tinkering School we were hired to run some summer camps at Ann Richards School. We had helped them in their quest to build a brand new Makerspace but here was an opportunity to get some fun making in and help students and teacher explore making. In this camp we build flying contraptions and launched them from a platform. The contraptions had to include a design element common to flying devices and it also had to protect some precious cargo: a raw egg. Many of the students I worked with in this camp have since graduated from ARS. It’s be so rewarding to see them grow and flourish in the maker centric environment that Ann Richards School creates.
