I love boats. I especially love sailing boats, but all things boats interest me. So when my friend Matt invited me to join his wife Kami’s little project as they launched boats that some kids had made in their backyard I couldn’t say now. Boats is how it began! The images below are from a similar camp hosted in 2014 where we built more boats and launched them in Lady Bird Lake. It was the 2014 camp that really got me thinking more about the learning, and being explicit about a few key concepts (density, buoyancy, etc) and how I could sneak some education into the fun!
